Stephanie is a college student majoring in biology. She was dosed with a mutagenic virus as part of a mad scientist's mass experiment on campus. All Stephanie knew was that "someone had slipped [her] the 'bad acid'" -- she'd been at a party and started having what she thought was very bad hallucinations about turning into a bug and crawling all over the walls. She woke up a humanoid insect. That wasn't her best day ever. Fortunately for Stephanie, the chitinous covering will slough off, leaving her normal looking. She still goes to school, and has joined Emergent Justice. For someone who was unwillingly turned into a giant humanoid bug, Stephanie is pretty well adjusted. She is still occasionally bitter about the whole thing, but the incidental superpowers are actually kind of cool. Stephanie kids a lot, and likes to tease the rest of the team, especially Soundscream, who she treats like a kid brother. "I can fix that, but it's gonna be gross..." "Take THAT, you! Ohmigod, areyouok?" Stephanie is pretty strong and tough as herself, after the mutation. Alcohol, and, in fact, most toxins have no affect on her. She can excrete a substance from her skin that forms a hard chitinous exterior. She can form it into claws if she wants, and in that form, also has dragon-fly wings. Dragonfly really doesn't want to hurt anybody, so she tries to save the claws for inanimate objects, really tough opponenents, and times when she's really really annoyed. She has been known to injure opponents in hand to hand combat, and then run forward "to make sure they're ok." She's also fond of grabbing bystanders and dragging them out of harm's way. The cocooning substance Dragonfly, err, excretes (spits) apparently not only sustains her, but can heal others. Of course, it does involve being spit on by a giant bug, but... Player Character - Team leader of Emergent Justice Normally, Stephanie is a reasonably attractive California-style blonde, 21 years old. In heroic form, she is covered in purple-green iridescent chitin, with a buglike faceplate and dragonfly wings. She's frequently wearing a labcoat with slits for the wings, since the chitin doesn't have pockets.
